mom of four, wife to one, life is good

Ella had a dance recital Friday night.  Here she is waiting in the hall for her turn, next to her is her most favorite, bestest friend the the whole world Paige.
Ella was so excited for her recital.  And can you blame her?  Look what she got to wear.  She was so excited to look like a princess, have her hair in a bun like Cinderella and dance on the stage.  As her group entered onto the stage she walking on right behind her friend Paige but due to all the excitement she kept on walking and just about exited the other side.  To my relief she stopped and started the dance.  She actually did a few moves but soon realized that she was all alone on one side of the stage and Paige was no where near by.  I think she tried to keep it together for a few short moments.  She would move her arms around and then quickly wipe the tears that started to flow.  But then it was all too much and she was done dancing and stood there crying until the end of the number.  As soon as the song stopped I ran back stage and grabbed her.  "I wanted to stand by Paige!"  was all she could say, over and over.  I was so sad for her, how traumatic for us both.  So we have talked.  Next time she will hold Paige's hand when they go on stage.  She has also requested a flower, like the one Princess Aurora has in Sleeping Beauty.  (That would be one red rose for those of you who don't know)  I love my Ella.  She is so gorgeous and so sweet.  So here's to Ella, to me she is a dancing queen.

no thinking chair today.... I couldn't be prouder.  Also due to the fact that Andrew ruins all his jeans I went to Shopko to get him 2 more pair.  Apparently Shopko will replace all childrens clothes that get worn out before your child grows out of them.  Brilliant I Say!  When I told Andrew of their policy he was so excited, man he thinks they are smart.  So Andrew is lookin' like a babe in new jeans and a real cool shirt that is black with some camo on it.  Amy, you would love it.

dear, sweet Andrew

today andrew said "I just burped, nobody panic", then he asked me if I knew what panic meant.  try and keep up mom.  andrew is my child that I can't keep up with.  or maybe it is because he is just so dang demanding.  that kids never stops talking, thinking, moving.  and here lies the problem... he wants me to talk to, to think with and to play with.  I could plan out a whole day of activities and the moment we are through and I am trying to get dinner made he is saying he is bored and it has been a boring day.  I'm trying not to take anything he says to personal, he is a 5 year old boy after all.  Anyway he is funny and a smart cookie so I try to focus on that.
Today when I picked him up from school the teacher told me that he had to sit in the "Thinking Chair" twice for rough housing.  He said the first time he was running away from the alledged "rough houser" and the 2nd time he was slapping his own knee and a kid got to close and he hit him instead.  What to believe?  I don't know, I guess we will try better tomorrow.

Ivy is 10 months old

Today Ivy is 10 months old.  What's weird is that it is only 2 months until her birthday, hmmm......  She is the most delightful baby, I love her to pieces.  Her new tricks include; Shaking her head no, giving kisses, cruising the furniture, finding her balance a little more, and I swear she says "hi".  We all love our Ivy Lou.  Andrew loves to make her laugh and Ella loves to torture her.  We are trying to stop the torturing, we even had a family home evening about it.  Any suggestions?  Anyway, Here's to Ivy!  May she live long and prosper.

funny stuff

sometimes I think "working" with Ella is like working with the handicap, and yes I have worked with them so ha.  Today while frustrated because it takes 10 minutes to get her shoes on I called her a poop stain.  (this name came to mind because I had a poopy diaper right next to me and Ella commented on the smell)  Ella said "I am not a poop stain I am a princess!".

Andrew's primary class consist of 5 boys and 1 girl.  Sunday was a bad day, apparently the whole class was horrible and Andrew was right in there being naughty.  So, that night after a lecture on being good and making good choices he said "It's just easier to be bad".  I told his teacher this last night and she said that Jayden (one of the others) said to his mom after his lecture "This is how Jesus made me!"  If these boys aren't brilliant I don't know who is.

Ivy has finally gotten her first tooth and I think a second is coming.  She is a sad sight, all snotty and sad.  Not to mention the runs for the last couple of days, yuck.

thanks ella

today ella said "mom, I won't laugh at you naked."  thanks ella

breakfast in bed

This morning Steve and I were treated to breakfast in bed.  Andrew and Ella came up to our room with paper plates in hand.  We got bread with peanut butter and honey.  This was impressive because Andrew sliced the bread on his own.  We also had string cheese, applesauce and a cookie.  They even filled up my hospital mug with water.  Andrew thought it was best to have a cup with a lid.  While we ate our breakfast they danced to the music that plays on Ivy's saucer.  thanks to Andrew and Ella for being so thoughtful and entertaining!

October Fest

October has come and gone, man that went fast.  We did some fun things to enjoy the fall, we went to find the leaves up the canyon, we went to Gardner Village to see the witches, we went with grandma Warner to Thanksgiving Point to Cornbelly's, good times were had by all.  I was successful putting some pictures up but then blogger pooped out and will not do anymore. Does anyone else have that problem or is it just me?  I will have to try later.

A picture with all the cousins at Gardner Village "everyone look over here!".
Boo!  Ella's Halloween program at preschool.  This is her awesome teacher Mrs. King.  Ella did a great job singing songs and helping with a scary story.
Halloween night we had family over for food and trick or treating.  Andrew and Henry were ninja's
Freddie the mummy, Ivy the ghost, and Victoria the indian.
Charlotte as Minny Mouse and Ella as Cinder"Ella"
We made miniature caramel apples, they were delicious as well as cute.  Kristen should model food for a living don't you think?  We really had  fun time.  Having 3 kids on halloween is nuts.  Is everyone ready, did everyone eat, where's the baby?  It was a crazy time but fun.  I love having everyone over and I hope they had fun as well.  Can't wait for Christmas...

Steve left today for Geneva (who goes there?).  So I am left here with the craziest 2 kids and one sweet baby.  Why does Andrew think he is smarter that everyone?  Did I do this to him?  And why is Ella deaf?
Andrew is off track for a couple of weeks, so now I have to figure out what to do with him.  Any suggestion?  He gets bored and then bugs me all day, I mean gee do I really have to take care of this kid?  (sense the sarcasm)  So maybe a zoo trip, or wheeler farm, or a gun show?  I am just hopping that I do not lose my mind while Steve is gone.  I think he would be really mad at me if I go ballistic and kill the children.
Has everyone noticed how awesome the mountain looks?  so pretty.  I love the fall, I love the smell of it, I love Halloween, I love fall clothes, I love pumpkins, I love feeling warm inside when it is breezy cold outside.

San Diego trip

We went on an awesome family trip to San Diego with the "other Warner Family".  We stayed at a beach house on Mission Beach.  It was so fun to play at the beach.  The kids loved the water and digging in the sand.  We went to the Zoo, Sea World, Coronado Island, a bout tour of San Diego Harbor, went to the Marine Base and of course played at the beach.  Despite a lot of throw up (what was that all about?), we had a lot of fun.  We were really glad that we could spend time with Bill, Whitney, Hunter, Aspen, Brookie and Ben.  They are awesome people, we love them.

If you are lucky enough to have a baby at St. Marks Hospital you get to try The Cocktail. I heard about the "yummy drink" from a girl before I even had Ivy. So after Ivy was born and I was in my recovery room my nurse brought me some juice, man it was tasty. When my kids came to visit they both drank a full 32 oz's gone! And I promised on their 2nd visit I would ask the nurse for more. So when I was feeling like a cold was coming on and I felt achy and tired I thought of the cocktail. Here it is, 1/3 equal parts Sprite, cranberry juice and orange juice. I promise it is tasty and it will make you feel good. It is almost worth having another baby to get it, almost.

princesses everyday

this is Ella with her friend Paige.  They play princesses everyday.  A few days ago the pretty princesses found some make up and decided to put it on.  Oh, how beautiful they look!
We had to have a photo shoot.
Paige told me she was Ursula and Ella was Belle
I love these two, they are two peas in a pod.

poop is now under control

I need to give ella her "ya hoo!" for being such a big girl and going to preschool. She loves going and loves Mrs. King. I am relieved that I don't have to deal with a crying kid, prying her off my leg to get into the class room. After I dropped her off on Tuesday I stood outside the door and heard her tell Mrs. King that she had papers in her backpack (homework). It made me smile to hear her talk like such a big girl and not be afraid. I love my Princess Roger Ella Rose Bunzarelly!

Also, Today I took the kids to Sandy City Hall to look at the flags for 9-11, it makes me cry and I think, "gosh, you weren't there, nor do you know anyone who was personally impacted, get a grip". But I just can't believe the evil that occurred, it scares me. Andrew has tried to understand it before and still he asks about the guys that did it. "didn't they know that they were going to die too?" "that is how evil they were, they didn't even care".

I am trying to add pictures but blogger is having a problem. maybe later

my week

how many times can one person poop on their crib bumper? lots.... I think I have washed it almost everyday for the last week. I am tired of poop and barf, I know I have whined about this to some of you, but seriously.

Andrew started Kindergarten last Tuesday. What a big day, I did cry and luckily I was not the only one. He just looked so big and so cute standing in line with all the other kids. After school I asked him how it was and he said "I don't want to talk about it" in his super ornery voice (I wonder where he gets that?). But later he said it was the best day of his life. He was wiped out this week, it has been a bigger adjustment than I was anticipating but he does enjoy it. Ella will start preschool this week but sadly due to the "pooping bug" she will have to miss her first day. She and I had the flu this week and it is taking her a while to get through it. So if you are at our house and you here us say "squeeze your cheeks!" we are talking to Ella while she is RUNNING to the toilet. This weekend was also Steve's birthday, he turned a whopping 31. We had a little celebration with his parents and sister which included bbq and pie. We love our Steve and wish him the best year yet.

4 stitches

rough and tough Ella split her toe open Thursday night and Friday morning things weren't looking good, so it was off to urgent care for some stitches. She was brave and watched the whole thing. She kept saying "I want to go home." and "I don't want those strings on me." but she made it through. I was a little more frazzled than she was, when I was filling out the form I couldn't remember how to spell toe. Let's just say my stomach was in knots and I felt a little faint.
This last weekend we went down to glenwood with grandparents and cousins. The kids always have fun there, it is a magical place. They play all day, get dirty and ride the fourwheeler till the sun goes down. I woke up Sunday morning with a swollen eye ball, yes not just a puffy eye but my eye ball was protruding out of my head. It was sick and it didn't go away until around noon, what the heck happened? I don't know. anyway, good times.

some pictures of the summer so far

Last night I had this weird dream... everywhere I went my dog daisy was there and everyone was like "Daisy, how are you!". I said "How do you know my dog?" "Oh she comes to visit all the time." they said.
I feel so blogger savvy, I just put together my first slide show.

bitten by the blogging bug

This summer... watching kids ride bikes, swim lessons, visiting with cousins, staying up late with the sun, slip n slide, weeding my flower beds, going to the pool... I have felt that there has been no time to blog, especially with Ivy Lou by my side. But lately I have been bitten by the bug and would like to enter back into the blogging world. The kids have definitely kept me busy. They are both getting taller and wiser. They both will be in school in a couple of weeks, Andrew in kindergarten and Ella in preschool. I feel that the 2 days a week when they are both at school will be priceless and I am so looking forward to it. Ivy is almost 7 months now. She rolls all over, gets onto her hands and knees, and truly is a delight. She will smile for anyone and is a cuddlebug, I love her.
This month has been Warner month with 2 of Steve's sisters visiting from out of state. We had a fun time playing with cousins and laughing with each other. We will be going to Glenwood with DeAnn and her kids in a week, it should be fun.
I made a goal this summer to run 3 5k races. I am happy to report that I accomplished my goal. I would love a running partner if anyone is interested, I did them by myself which was fine but I am sure it would be more fun with a buddy. Ashley and I are running a 5K in September. (Ashley I just told everyone you are running so no bailing!)
I am anticipating the waking of Ivy any minute so that will have to be all for now.

Ivy Lucile with cousin Victoria Ruby

I am excited for these two girls to buddies, they are both so beautiful. I was thinking Victoria could share some of her hair with Ivy, just a thought.

where have I been?

update, Andrew started T-ball, he really likes it, he is on a team with his friend Tyler. He also learned how to ride a bike this last week, he loves to ride it and can now get going on his own. We took another trip to Wheeler Farm, I love going there. I have officially freaked Andrew out, he is terrified of geese. I just told him not to scare them, or go running at them and now he doesn't want to go near them. This is hard since there are like 100 geese there walking all over the place. When we were leaving Andrew tripped and bloodied up his knee, so of course he was crying. I had him ride on the stroller while we made our way back to the car. On the way Ella got rocks in her shoe so we stopped to take care of it. While we were stopped Andrew cried "why is no one taking care of me?" Dramatic? yes. Ella learned to peddle on her bike yesterday, she was so proud. We were at the park and she said "mom look!" She has also been trying to ride Andrew's scooter, she does okay but falls a lot. But like the tuff little girl she is even with blood running down her leg she didn't want to stop trying. I think this summer is going to be full of bloody knees, better stock up on bandaids.
I am training to run a 5k on June 7th, anyone want to join me? It is Draper Trail Days and so I am hittin' the trail. Steve also got me a bike for mothers day so time to get my bikin legs on.
Ivy is doing well, she is a good little baby. Sometimes in the car I have a little panic thinking I forgot her because she is so quiet. Steve and I like to joke that "she is so fussy". Boy, I am glad to have a nice baby. If I were to have another hard one that would have pushed me over the edge. anyway, here are some pictures of the last week or so. see ya

blog hopping

it is time for me to go to bed, but I am on the computer blog hopping. Do you do that? The dumb thing is I am reading blogs of people I knew 15 years ago and I think I should say hi, you know just a quick hello. How dumb is that? because you know darn well that if I saw them in the grocery store I would be shy and run the other way. What makes people think they can be best buddies with everyone on the internet but face to face it would never happen? I think it is weird, at least for me. good night

Ivy Lou

Ivy is now 3 months old and doing what most kids her age do... drool, suddenly notice's her hand and try's to get in in her mouth, gooos, geees, gaaas, smiles so sweetly. She is my sanity, I just have to look at her and "Ahhhh".
Okay, why oh why is their snow outside? This is very bad for my mood you know. Today Andrew has a T-Ball game and it might just be cancelled, just like last week when it was snowing remember? I am really tired of it and I am sure I am not the only one so I won't whine about it anymore.
This week my shoulder area started hurting and so I made an appointment with a chiropractor and by the end of the day I could not move with out shooting pain up in my neck, it was awful. So I got my self to the doctor and he fixed me up just great. It is impossible to take care of 3 kids when you can't move. And it is very dangerous to try and drive, I probably ran a few people off the road.
That's all I got for now. see ya.

how hard can it be?

I will tell you.... I have been thinking up some very clever blogs, you know I think I am pretty funny. Any time I sit down at the computer a number of things happen, Ivy cries, my kids climb all over me saying "I want to play PBSKids", the doorbell rings, the phone rings.... it goes on. So the other night I finally had some time alone, I composed a fabulous blog, took the time to put about 6 picture on of our trip to Arizona and then of course one of those distractions took me away. Never fear I thought I will finish it up later. So later came and I went down to the computer and "what in the heck!" where did my post go? I ran up stairs to Steve "I spent all evening running up and down the stairs trying to post a blog, put on pictures and now it is gone! I have had it, I give up!" "Oh, I saw it but it just looked like a bunch of jibberish, sorry" replies Steve "Those were all the pictures" I said. sigh...
So, our trip was fun. I do not have the time or energy to go on about it.

Check our photo shoot we had on Saturday, thanks to Jodi Palmer! I think my kids should think about modeling. We are off to Mesa tomorrow, give me some sun.

birthday and a blessing

the month of march is officially nuts. after Ella's birthday there was Easter, Andrew's birthday and then Ivy's baby blessing. Andrew's pirate party was a success, crazy, but a success. After a treasure hunt, pin the sword on the pirate, cake and then skull tattoo's I was wiped out. The next day we blessed Ivy along with her cousin Ben. I love seeing Bill, Whitney and their kids, I wish they lived closer. Ivy looked so cute in her blessing dress (worth every penny, steve) and her dad gave her a beautiful blessing. Now for April we have T-Ball and a trip to Arizona. I am so looking forward to the hot sun, hopefully I can get some sort of a tan. Kate pointed out that she hasn't seen me this white in quite a while. So I guess that's all for now. Finding time to blog is getting tricky.
